Airedale Boat Club

Airedale Boat Club thumbnailLast month I helped to put together a small website for Airedale Boat Club. Airedale Boat Club has been located above the renowned Bingley Five Rise locks on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal since 1959.

The website is designed to act as a communicative portal for prospective and existing members with newsletters, a gallery of photographs, map and more.

Airedale Boat Club were great to work with and supplied some fantastic photography for use on the website. It made sense to try and incorporate as much photography as possible into the design and it really brings the website to life.

Dixons Allerton Academy website fast approaching 100,000 hits!

Every time I check the Dixons Allerton Academy website I notice its visitor count has increased by thousands. The total is fast approaching 100,000 hits – good going for an Academy that was only launched in September last year.

I think the popularity of this website highlights just how important it is for schools to have a professional web presence that acts as a fast, reliable and user friendly communication service between the school and parents and a platform to showcase how well the school is maintained and run.

I like to think of websites as members of staff – working tirelessly, 24 hours a day to represent and promote the school or company that owns them.

During three years working for a subsidiary of Dixons City Academy in Bradford I helped to develop a number of websites for schools and Academies. Upon leaving the company I was asked to help maintain of many of these websites and have since created several more. I can offer the extensive expertise I have developed to provide similar services to schools nationwide.

The websites I develop for schools are usually based around a content management system, which allows authorised users to log in and update the website’s content without any prior knowledge of website coding. Although this is a very simple process, I also provide a detailed user manual and on site training to assist the user.
Typically the process is as follows:

  1. We discuss your needs at an initial consultation
  2. 3-5 initial concept designs are developed
  3. A final design is developed based on feedback from the initial designs
  4. The website is built and fitted around a content management system
  5. All of the initial website content is added by me
  6. A detailed user manual is created and I also provide on-site training on editing & updating the website
  7. An invoice is sent upon satisfactory completion of the website
